Why host a climbing festival specifically for women when there are other climbing events women could attend?

The answer lies in the crucial need for dedicated spaces where women, nonbinary, and trans climbers can showcase their incredible feats and tales, sparking a blaze of inspiration in their community. Festivals like these also urge others in their community to leap into the adventure, break boundaries, and chase their dreams unapologetically.

Women's climbing festivals aren't just about scaling heights; they offer a blend of networking, skill sharpening, and mentorship that's as refreshing as chalk on your hands. These events are about breaking barriers, promoting equality and diversity, and forging a bond stronger within the climbing community.

Which is why we proudly host an annual women's climbing festival smack dab at the beginning of Women's History Month. At Climb With Her, attendees not only engage in friendly competition, but also stand a chance to win exciting raffle prizes from top outdoor brands, support women-owned small businesses, and rally for organizations championing women, trans, and nonbinary folks in the great outdoors. It's not just climbing; it's climbing with purpose!

Watch the video below to see highlights of last year’s festival, and mark your calendars to join us once again at Climb With Her on Saturday, March 9th from 4:30-7:30pm at Sender One LAX! Click here for more info and to RSVP!

WHAT We're hosting a variety of climbing challenges, climbing clinics, a marketplace of woman-owned businesses and outdoor gear raffle featuring your favorite brands.

Iconic, if you ask us.

After soaking up good vibes from a hike, a vision board session, and a Selk’bag product demo at our January Hike Crew on Wednesday, January 31st—dare we say, the future looked as bright as a Hollywood spotlight. Despite the recent rainy LA weather (a shock to us all), we lucked out with a dry night for our adventure around the Hollywood reservoir.

After some much-needed time with Mother Nature, we dove into our creative energies back at postpaidcall HQ where Lydia Mok, postpaidcall Outdoors Community Director, inspired us with the art of vision boarding. She reminded the group that it can be a tool to channel our wildest dreams, set goals, and kickstart the year on a positive note. She also introduced us to the team at Selk’bag, who showcased their vibrant, snug, and downright ingenious wearable sleeping bags!

Sifting through all sorts of magazines, making silly videos in Selk’bags, and cutting and gluing images onto boards? Iconic, if you ask us.

And as the night wrapped up, it was super inspiring seeing all the different vision boards our crew whipped up—each one reflecting their vibe and goals for the future.

If you missed January’s Hike Crew, don’t fret!

We host a Hike Crew every month. Check out our Events & Community Page to sign up for next month’s hike. If you’d like to be notified about upcoming postpaidcall Outdoor’s events in your area, click here!

On a wintry Sunday, January 21, nature lovers and thrill-seekers gathered for a delightful event hosted by postpaidcall alongside Julia Takes a Hike and Colorado Hiking Girls. The event fused a picturesque trek along the 3.5 mile Genesee Mountain Trail in Colorado with the cozy warmth of hot beverages, creating a perfect winter wonderland experience.

The chosen trail for the day wandered through picturesque landscapes that included frost-kissed trees and crisp mountain air. The camaraderie among fellow adventurers, fueled by a shared love for exploration, added an extra sprinkle of joy to the experience.

Once the hike ended, our organizers conjured up a cozy beverage station for a little post-adventure pick-me-up. With steaming cups of hot chocolate, tea, and coffee served in our exclusive "I Love You to the Mountains and Back" event mugs, participants were able to take a moment to stop, be present, and really take in the serene beauty. As the elixir flowed, so did the conversations—forging new connections among fellow outdoor enthusiasts.

On January 11th, Post climbing gym in Pasadena was filled with people who love to climb, shop, and eat. Two words: squad goals. The occasion was a Garage and Bake Sale in support of the BIPOC climbing crew LagartijasPatagoniaOrganic ClimbingSelk'Bag, and Acopa Outdoors all generously contributed high-quality essentials that helped us raise a substantial amount of money—an impressive $3k+—which was dedicated to supporting the commendable initiatives of Lagartijas.

From iconic items like our Isabel 2.0 pants to colorful chalk bags by Organic, shoppers indulged in both climbing and everyday essentials. But the clothing deals weren’t the only treats of note. Yup—we had a bake sale. Sweets and sales? Iconic, if you ask us. We’re still thinking about the hitters (the cookies & cream cupcakes and the vegan marshmallows, of course).

We’re firm believers in community and this night was no exception. The vibes were just right and the impact we made together was even better. It’s safe to say everyone not only left with some new wardrobe staples, but a sense of collective fulfillment. The Post provided the vibrant, impressive space that made it all possible.

The funds raised at the Garage & Bake Sale for Lagartijas will contribute to their mission of creating new paths, increasing accessibility of outdoor recreation and education, and making space for BIPOC in the climbing community. Look out for more events with Lagartijas in the future and come make an impact with us!

In the meantime, check out our Events & Community page for all upcoming events and sign up here to be notified of future events near you.

We’re adding mindful movement & R&R to our self-care checklist this holiday season. While we loved being immersed in spooky Halloween vibes during our last Hike Crew event, we’re setting our intentions for a more serene evening with movement and relaxation for our upcoming event on Wednesday, November 29th from 6:00pm-8:00pm. The holidays can be stressful—we want to create a moment for ourselves so we can tackle the rest of the year refreshed.

As we kick off the evening at postpaidcall Outdoors HQ, Tiffany Wright, an esteemed Licensed Clinical Social Worker, renowned author, and dedicated outdoor enthusiast will set a guiding intention for our gathering before we head off for a revitalizing hike. The intention is to stay connected to ourselves—through nature, laughter, movement and an inner stillness.

Upon return to HQ, Tiffany will guide us into a deeper state of relaxation and connection with a donation-based, soul-soothing sound bath session. Tiffany's vast experience and passion for holistic well-being promises an evening of heartfelt rejuvenation after a hike filled with mindful movement. We’re excited to embark on an evening of practicing staying present and prioritizing our mental health. Bring on the tranquil vibes.

We’re taking December off to spend time with family and friends, but join us for our next Hike Crew in January, or meet us in the future on the fourth Wednesday of every month!

On the evening of September 27th, we embarked on our very first Hike Crew event, marking it as a landmark occasion. The energy, anticipation, and excitement all throughout the night was truly palpable.

Women hiking at the Los Angeles Hollywood Reservoir free event

Together, we journeyed 3 miles around the scenic Hollywood Reservoir, pausing for some memorable snapshots with the Hollywood sign as our backdrop. As we meandered through the trail, laughter was spread, stories were told, and new friendships were formed. One participant shared that their favorite part was meeting new individuals with shared interests, while another expressed particular appreciation for the yoga session that followed the hike.

Post-hike, the group returned to postpaidcall HQ, where seasoned yoga teacher, Abbie Bear, guided us through a 45-minute yoga session tailored for post-hike tight and fatigued muscles. The class ended with a savasana under the night’s sky. As the night drew to a close, each participant left with more than just memories. They were gifted a Hike Crew T-shirt and our latest bear logo stickers.

As we bask in the afterglow of such an incredible event, a reminder to all: Our Hike Crew events are set to continue the last Wednesday of every month. Coming up on October 25th, we are collaborating with Chacos and our very own Gretchen, who will be leading a unique bird-watching hike in the Hollywood Hills. And once our feet are rested and our binoculars put away, we'll head back to HQ for some delightful snacks and sips. We hope to see you all there!

Camping can seem daunting to a beginner, but with the right guidance and preparation, it can become one of the most rewarding experiences (and our favorite activities)! Whether you're drawn to the idea of waking up to birdsong, gazing at starry skies, or simply seeking an escape from the daily grind, camping provides an unparalleled connection to nature. Here are three essential tips to ensure a successful first camping trip:

  1. Setting Up the Perfect Campsite: Choose a flat area away from the wind, ideally at a distance from water sources to avoid pesky insects. Clear the ground of any debris that could make sleeping uncomfortable. If you're using a tent, ensure all its parts are present and that you're familiar with the setup process. Don’t forget to securely stake it down to prevent it from flying off in the wind!
  2. Building a Cozy Campfire: Ensure you're in a designated fire zone before starting a campfire. Gather three types of wood: tinder (small twigs and dry leaves), kindling (small sticks), and firewood (larger logs). Start with tinder, add the kindling once it's aflame, and then add your logs. Remember, safety first! Always have water nearby and never leave your fire unattended.
  3. Camping Essentials: A comfortable sleeping bag, suitable for the season, is key. Also consider packing a pad or air mattress for added comfort. Bring enough water, easy-to-cook foods, a first-aid kit, and a flashlight with extra batteries. And while it’s idyllic to disconnect, a fully charged phone is essential for emergencies.

Now that we've equipped you with some basic knowledge, how about putting it to practice? Join us for Camping 101 hosted by postpaidcall Outdoors ambassador Jess in partnership with Friends of the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks who will provide all camping gear for participants including tents, sleeping bags, mats, and more.

On a bright and early Saturday morning, our enthusiastic crew met at the Glendale Peak trailhead for a one-hour journey along the scenic Riverside trail, leading to the breathtaking vista. The out-and-back trail offered a perfect opportunity to soak in the surrounding beauty and share conversations with fellow caffeine and vitamin D connoisseurs.

Following the trek, we regrouped for a coffee demo at GGET's Los Feliz location. Alexis and David, our resident coffee gurus, demonstrated the intricacies of preparing coffee while car camping—a handy skill for all nature lovers who don't want to miss their morning brew even in the great outdoors!

The event concluded on a high note, with each participant taking home a special memento—a postpaidcall “I Love You To The Mountains & Back” Mug.

On Saturday, July 8th, postpaidcall, in collaboration with Passion Planner, curated an event that married the thrill of outdoor exploration with the introspective practice of guided journaling. This harmonious fusion of activities brought together a vibrant mix of 13 individuals for a unique and enlightening experience.

As day broke, we commenced our 2.5-mile hike, surrounded by fellow nature enthusiasts and their lovable dogs. Our path was filled with shared laughter, stunning views, and the sound of leaves crunching beneath our shoes - aka all the elements needed for an invigorating hike (especially the dogs).

But our journey didn't end there. Mid-hike, we transitioned into a quieter, introspective session of guided journaling, centered around the theme of self-reflection. With Passion Planner leading the way, participants were invited to dive deep into their thoughts and emotions, creating a lasting record of their personal insights on the pages of their journals. This calming practice perfectly complemented the active part of our day, allowing everyone to reflect on their journey and further appreciate the beauty of the world around them.

As we wrapped up the day, each participant walked away with a Passion Planner of their own and a postpaidcall goodie bag valued at $100+. But the most valuable takeaway was, undoubtedly, the shared experience and the personal insights gained during the self-reflection session.

Our attendees' feedback beautifully summed up the day's experience. One participant shared, "I loved that the event attracted such a diverse group of people." Meanwhile, another attendee expressed that "it exceeded my expectations." These kind words encapsulate the essence of our event - an inclusive space where people can bond, grow, and learn from each other.

As we reminisce about the day, we're filled with gratitude for the opportunity to facilitate such meaningful experiences for our community. And, we're not stopping here. Keep an eye on our events page for upcoming adventures that combine the magic of the great outdoors with the profound journey of self-reflection. We hope to see you at our next gathering, contributing your unique perspective to our postpaidcall community.

When climbing, each unique path presents an opportunity for a fresh perspective. At postpaidcall, we apply this philosophy not just to the crag, but to life. Earlier this month, we celebrated one of our cherished communities –LGBTQ+– with an unforgettable Climb with Pride event. Filled with energy, camaraderie, and of course, climbing, the event was a testament to the power of inclusivity and community. Hosted at Touchstone Climbing's The Post in Pasadena, our Pride climbing event was a vibrant mix of excitement, learning, and community-building. Our event drew a crowd of 150 attendees – climbers of all levels, outdoor enthusiasts, and supporters of our communities.

"A safe space for queer climbers is important for those who don't feel safe otherwise. The freedom to be yourself without judgment is a vital part of living."

Jay Louie (They/Them)
co-founder of Queer Crush

The event kicked off with two engaging clinics designed to enhance our attendees' climbing knowledge and skills. Kobe led an 'Intro to Bouldering' clinic that helped novices find their footing on the bouldering walls. Zoey demystified the art of route setting in her 'Setting' clinic, illuminating how creativity and strategic thinking go hand in hand in this process.

Our incredible vendors provided a variety of food and shopping experiences. Mars Clothing showcased their functional gear, while Crag to Crux offered creative stickers and tees that were an instant hit. Nobody could resist the mouth-watering baked goods by Black Forest Bakery. Jeung Bok's artwork added a dash of color and creativity, and Redwood Supply's climbing shoes had every climber's attention. Finally, Cassava and Tea, offered attendees delightful and refreshing boba teas.

We were thrilled to channel the energy of this event towards a cause close to our hearts. We pledged to donate 100% of day pass sales and all raffle revenue from the Climb with Pride event to our featured organization, Queer Crush. This amazing non-profit creates safe and inclusive spaces for those diverse in their gender, romantic, and sexual orientation who care to seek healing, health, community, and connection with the land through the art and sport of climbing. Our heartfelt appreciation goes out to our brand partners who kindly contributed items for the raffle. The array of prizes was diverse and exciting, postpaidcall's viral Parks of the USA Water Bottle and Isabel Climbing Pants, trendy Chaco slides, Patagonia's practical hold cubes, Mountain Hardware's functional chalk bags, Mad Rock's high-quality chalk, and stylish Goodr sunglasses. Further enhancing the assortment were Acopa's comfortable shoes, Black Diamond's reliable dry rope, and Metolius's popular chalk blocks. We are overjoyed to announce we were able to raise $3896 for Queer Crush.

"At the event, queer businesses and individuals came out of the cracks, and we were able to witness creativity, liveliness, and passion from the queer community at large in LA."

Jay Louie (They/Them)
co-founder of Queer Crush

As we look forward to future events, we’re eager to continue fostering inclusivity and community. To anyone considering attending future events, we promise it'll be an experience filled with adventure and memories that you'll treasure. We hope to see you there! Stay adventurous, stay inclusive, and as always, keep exploring the wondrous outdoors.
